PASTOR JIM & DEB SMITH
Jim & Deb Smith began their ministry with Mosaic Church in January 2017, along with a highly committed core of wonderful and gracious fellow Christians, who are passionate about reaching Hamilton and the Bitterroot Valley with the life changing good news of Jesus Christ. They have previously ministered in churches in New York, Illinois, Indiana as well as Montana.
Jim is an ordained minister with a Masters of Divinity degree in Pastoral Ministries and a Ph.D in New Testament and Early Christianity and was a Professor of Bible, Theology and Church History at Loyola and DePaul Universities in Chicago. His passions include martial arts, and currently holds two black belts, as well as beekeeping and has has served as the vice president of the Ravalli County Beekeepers Association.
Deb has served as a drug and HIV Counselor in New York City, a stay home mom and a PTA president in the Southside of Chicago. She loves to teach at Curious Minds School, as well as ministering in the areas of Children’s and Women’s Ministries. She not so secretly loves British murder mysteries and Dr. Who.
Jim & Deb have been married for over 25 years and are blessed with two handsome sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law.
Their oldest son, Zach, is a graduate of the M.B.A program for entrepreneurship. His wife, Desi, is a graduate in Communications from UM (Go Griz!). They enjoy chasing their large German Shepherd/Husky mix, Apollo, around Puerto Rico where they live and work.
Their youngest son, Josh, completed two bachelor's degrees in German & Business at UM. He loves all things Star Wars, Harry Potter and along with his mother, Dr. Who. He is a practical jokester who is also the 2016 Montana Speech & Debate co-champion in the category of humorous duo.
